Because of the presence of ethanol in marine fuel it absorbs water which is the prime reason for the damage caused to your engine. So make sure to use marine fuel additive to extend the life of your marine engine.
A marine fuel additive can reduce the damage caused to your engine provided that you are using the right type of additive for the right type of marine diesel. If you are using an OEM recommended diesel additive or a gasoline fuel additive then it is not enough to protect your marine engine. So while buying marine diesel make sure that your Gas Oil Suppliers is giving you non-alcohol based diesel. If you buy marine diesel from your diesel supplier then remember that the alcohol in your fuel will not only block your fuel system in the engine it will also eat up the rubber components of the engine.
Another thing that has to be kept in mind is the type of fuel additive you are using, as many of these additives contain alcohol in them. Especially if you are using E10 gasoline then with the wrong type of additive the alcohol content may rise to 10% in your engine, which is not only illegal but highly damaging to your marine engine.
